On the second month of trying with OvuSense, I got my BFP at 10DPO!!!!

We’ve been trying for the last two years to conceive our fourth and final child.  My OH and I both come from very old families with no children whatsoever. We’re the youngest ones 40+. We’ve been swaying for boy and even did gender selection IVF abroad. Two embryos transferred but it still resulted in a BFN.

It has been a heartache for a long time.  Looking back, invasive IVF really upset me at the time too.  In the end, we just wanted to have a baby, either a baby girl or boy.  Unfortunately, we were still unable to conceive naturally.  In the past, I’ve had back to back pregnancies and didn’t make any real effort in conceiving.

I saw OvuSense on my Instagram newsfeed and got very excited to be able to pinpoint my Ovulation day.  Boom!  On the second month of trying with OvuSense, I got my BFP at 10DPO!!!!  We’re over the moon and we don’t really mind the gender of the baby anymore.  We’re feeling so grateful about being able to conceive as I’m 40 years old now.

How to accurately time a Progesterone test

Your doctor may have suggested that you have a progesterone test to confirm ovulation or to assess your progesterone levels in the luteal phase.

The main test to determine whether a woman is ovulating is by a blood test, which assesses the level of the hormone Progesterone. Progesterone increases in the blood stream following ovulation and reaches it’s peak at 7 days before the next menstrual period. This test is termed a 21-day Progesterone test and is performed on day 21 of a 28 day cycle.

We used donor sperm and OvuSense and conceived in just 3 cycles!

My wife and I wanted a baby and so we started looking for a donor in 2011.  As we are a same-sex couple, obviously our only choice is to use donor sperm in order to conceive.  It’s hard work to find the right donor and with AI (artificial insemination) but we are proof that miracles can happen!

Obviously, timing it all is really critical with a donor as you have to know exactly when you are ovulating and you only get one chance each month and you don't want to waste it! We found OvuSense and bought it thinking it would help us to get pregnant (and it did!).  Just 3 cycles and it happened for us!

Dr. Mary, Chiropractor, talks about her fertility journey with OvuSense - Blog #2

Hello everyone! I’m a newly-sense (to OvuSense!) and I love how open and supportive and encouraging everyone is in the OvuSense Users Group. :)  Anyways, I figured it is my turn to share my fertility story.

Long story short, I have wicked PCOS and I haven’t gotten a visit from 'Aunt Flo' (aka my period) in over 3 years.  My doctor told me taking temps would just drive me crazy.  So, I made 2018 my year to get healthy and to make myself knowledgeable of my alien cycle.

This year I’m playing with my nutrition, so will keep you all posted!  As a chiropractor, I’m excited that I may have something to offer my female patients trying to conceive.

Dr. Mary, Chiropractor, talks about her personal fertility journey with OvuSense - Blog #1

Some interesting information I want to share as a Chiropractor, craniosacral therapist, etc... I began practicing what I preached and started getting it done on me since May 2017.
Nothing else changed in my lifestyle and 6 months later, I had an ultrasound tech go in vaginally to look at my poor overworked ovaries, and she actually found a 1.6mm “bubble” amongst the .6mm bubbles.

20 conception abbreviations you need to know (fingers crossed you end up PG—Pregnant!)

The world is moving so quickly that trying to have a baby doesn't even require words. Now, modern family planning only takes a few letters.  Some of these acronyms are familiar (IVF, or In Vitro Fertilization), but others may leave you scratching your head.  As in, what the heck is BD and why should I care? (FYI, it means 'Baby Dance'—time to get busy between the sheets!)

Don't be left in the baby-making dark! Here are the top 20 conception abbreviations:

  1. AF It's that time of the month—a visit from your ol' Aunt Flo. But of course, your period is not what you want when you're TTC. In fact, many gals chant AFSA (Aunt Flo Stay Away!).

  2. BBT -Basal Body Temperature

  3. BFN (and BFP) Glimpsing a home pregnancy test and then suddenly feeling like crap means you've seen a Big Fat Negative. The opposite is, of course, BFP, or Big Fat Positive!

  4. BT Say yes to that needle stick! If you suspect you're prego, a Blood Test can confirm (it's more accurate than a urine test).

  5. CF (also CM) Ew! Your Cervical Fluid or Cervical Mucus is actually critical to unlocking the conception door. Get up close and personal with this monthly wetness, whether it's slick, clear, or cloudy, so you can pinpoint a fertile moment.

  6. DH (also DP and SO) He (or she) is your one and only, a partner in crime, and your main squeeze. Yup, it means Dear Husband, Dear Partner, or Significant Other. Why not give yours a little TLC today?

  7. DPO This is the countdown that can leave you breathless—it stands for Days Past Ovulation. If you're planning a baby, you'll be sitting tight for about 10-14 days before a home pregnancy test shows a BFP.

  8. DTD Yay—this is the fun one! When your CF is right, it's time to DTD—Do The Deed (as in, have sex!).

  9. EC Ice, Ice—BABY. EC or Embryo Cryo (freezing) keeps your eggs nice and fresh until you're ready to defrost!

  10. EDD This is the date you circle on the calendar in red pen. It's your Estimated Due Date, which is often determined from that first, early ultrasound.

  11. GS - Gestational Surrogate.

  12. hCGThis substance is a magic hormone, one you definitely want swimming in your bloodstream. The abbreviation stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, and your ob/gyn can detect it in the blood (and later in urine) during the first week or two of pregnancy.

  13. HPT - Home Pregnancy Tests!

  14. IUI - Intrauterine Insemination

  15. MC - It's the saddest outcome, but not that uncommon. Many women who are TTC have suffered a Miscarriage.

  16. MS - Morning Sickness

  17. POAS You'll do this to check your baby status. Yup, Pee On A Stick is the longer version, and if you're TTC you'll be sprinkling every month.

  18. PVN or Prenatal Vitamin is a multi that's taken for a few months prior to conception to ensure the right nutrients are present for the healthiest bambino possible.

  19. RE If you're TTC and it's taking many months, make an appointment to see an RE or Reproductive Endocrinologist. He can help diagnose why you're having trouble and help put you on the path to mommyhood.

  20. SD - Sperm Donor.

Baby dust to all our followers!
