Feeling let down by OPKs? | OvuSense Fertility and Ovulation Monitor

Ovusense App Fertility App

Have you have been trying to conceive for over six months without any luck, and feel like you aren’t getting reliable feedback from your ovulation predictor kits (OPKs)? Do you get a lot of 'false positives' with OPKs, or are your results always negative? If so, it is time to look at other ways calculate your ovulation.

OvuSense measures your 'core body' temperature extremely accurately to detect ovulation, unlike OPKs which measure surges in LH (luteinizing hormone). OvuSense can confirm your ovulation with 99% clinically proven accuracy.

"I never had a positive OPK test in all the months I used them. So many negative OPKs were really getting me down. OvuSense confirmed my ovulation and now I’m pregnant! If you are considering buying it… do it. So worth the money."
Eden, 2015
"A friend of mine told me about OvuSense. I had used Clearblue ovulation sticks for about 6 months unsuccessfully before realizing they don't always work well with ladies who have an ovulatory issue. We decided we would try OvuSense, which worked out great for us! I’m now pregnant!!"
Helen, 2016

How do OPKs work?

We’ve asked Kate Davies, a registered nurse fertility specialist with over twenty years’ experience in fertility and women’s health, to share some more information about OPKs.

"OPKs are used to test your urine for a surge in luteinising hormone (LH) that generally occurs one or two days before ovulation. Each time you want to see if you are going to ovulate, you need to urinate on a new kit, so typically you should use 10-20 strips each cycle to see if you're ovulating."

Why do OPKs sometimes show the wrong results?

Kate goes on to explain...

"Clinical literature shows that OPKs sometimes indicate ovulation when none has occurred. This is called a 'false positive' result. What this means for you is that if you are relying on OPKs to predict ovulation, then you may be attempting to conceive at the wrong time. This problem is most common if you have an ovulatory issue."

Studies show that over 70% of women who have been trying to conceive for 6 months or more have ovulatory issues. They also show that 50% of the issues go undetected.
